Charlie Luker!
Charlie is one of our many talented regional service managers based out of our Houston office.
- How long have you worked in the industry and how long have you been with us?
- I have been in the backup power industry for almost 3 years now, exclusively with Power Storage Solutions.
- Where did you grow up and where are based now?
- I grew up in Victoria, TX and now I live in Spring, TX.
- Tell us about your educational background, family life, and hobbies outside of work.
- After I graduated high school, I worked at Discount Tire for about 34 years. 22 of those years were served as a store manager. My wife and I have been married for 15 years years. Together, we have 6 children between us (we are a real life Brady Bunch) and 4 wonderful grandchildren. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family. I also enjoy woodworking, saltwater fishing, and cooking.
- Tell us about one of your biggest successes with a customer and/or within the organization.
- We just completed a large-scale job for a customer in Downtown Houston. The feedback and praise from our onsite customer representative was phenomenal. They praised our attitudes, commitment to safety, and overall teamwork. I would consider that a great success and I’m so proud to be part of this team.

- Accountable

- Who is someone that inspires you within the company and why?
- It is extremely difficult to pick one individual based on the fact that so many have contributed to my ability to perform the many roles I’ve held here. However, Heath Yackel has been a mentor and true friend throughout my journey here at Power Storage Solutions. He has helped me tremendously as I transitioned into the manager role here at Power Storage Solutions Houston branch.
- Before working at Power Storage Solutions, what was the most unusual or interesting job you’ve ever had?
- Before joining Power Storage Solutions, my first and only career was at Discount Tire for 34 years. However, between the ages of 10 and 18, spent every summer working on a shrimp boat as a deckhand. It was smelly, hard work but it paid well. P.S. I don’t like seagulls very much!
- What do you find the most challenging at Power Storage Solutions?
- The technical side of this business is immensely intricate. There is so much information and knowledge that one must possess or know where to acquire to be successful. Every day is a learning experience!
- What’s the most unique part about working here?
- We have a battle cry here of “I Can, I Will, I Am” This demonstration of can-do attitude coupled with an atmosphere of teamwork is a joy to be a part of on a daily basis.
